I just completed a new Web Page, under UK Newells section, on the Newell / Nowell families of Cornwall. I also did a child page under this page for Simeon Noall of Cornwall who was a Methodist Minister in Newfoundland in the 1820s.
Earlier in the month I restructured the Bareneed section of the Site by adding a new section on Family Names. This will make it easier for users to find information on individual families.
Hi John
The research you have completed and the detail provided is extraordinary.
My GG Grandfather was Phillip Newell b circa 1824 ( perhaps in Pouch Cove) and died in St. John’s 1882. Married to Hannah. Their daughter Emma Newell McCarte had a daughter named Bertha who may have been named after the sister Emma lost in 1887 at 16yrs. Emma was born in 1862 in Pouch Cove and died in St. John’s in 1936. Bertha McCarte Morris was my grandmother.
Hi Thanks for the info, will check it out. A few quick comments. In my Newells of Bareneed tree on Ancestry have a Philip b c 1820 but I have him marrying Ann Butler and no other info.
